Small Town Poker Tour is Denmark bound

Friday, February 3rd, 2006

The first European stop on the Small Town Poker Tour (STPT) will be Denmark, it was announced yesterday.

In its inaugural year, the STPT held a number of small charity tournaments across the US but its first European stop will take place in March.

Mark Fracalossi, STPT executive producer, said: “We have received many letters of nomination from all of Europe, but Denmark responded more than any other country.

“We are going to be visiting possible venues over the next few weeks… We are happy to be moving forward with setting up a true world amateur poker championship and giving people a chance to shine.”

Rather than the glitz and glamour of the big tournaments, the STPT has a reputation for focussing on the poker players and their hometowns.

Currently in its second season, the Tour is aiming to branch out to a new audience with its European expansion.
