Student poker tour commences

Brainy British poker players are to take part in the UK’s first ever nationwide Student Poker Tour.

Beginning this week and touring a number of British cities including London, Manchester and Birmingham, the tour will conclude in Bristol on March 3rd.

The event is sponsored by an online poker website and will tour all the country’s biggest universities to find the most accomplished Texas Hold’em player.

All of the top ten players from the tour will meet again on March 11th to compete for a brand new sports car.

Patrick Selin, pokerroom.com chief executive, said: “With the launch of the Student Poker Tour, we are taking the exciting world of poker directly to a growing audience and developing a relationship with a previously untapped market.

“We aim to show students that anybody can be a great Texas Hold ‘em player, given the tools and the know-how.”
