Fake casino shut for being too real
US authorities have shut down a fake casino as it was deemed too realistic
The casino in question was a 1920s-themed venue in Wisconsin, which was created by the Wasau Women’s Community Group.
However, a female representative from the state Department of Justice said the casino looked too realistic and as a result threatened them with legal action.
Jane Graham Jennings, the executive director of the woman’s group explained how she didn’t understand the need for proceedings.
She told the Daily Herald: “I explained that we felt it wasn’t illegal in any manner.”
The casino had been using fake money at the event, which is held as an annual fundraiser by the Women’s Community.
The fundraiser went ahead anyway without the casino, however it raised $10,000 less for charity than in had done in the previous year.
