Lipscomb sued for stealing poker TV

Steve Lipscomb, the creator of the World Poker Tour (WPT), is being sued for stealing the idea for televising poker.

Jonathan Waessil from California is suing Mr Lipscomb and claiming that the WPT godfather stole his idea for televising live poker matches.

According to the claimant, the pair met each other around ten years ago at the Hollywood Park Casino in southern California and had a discussion regarding the televising of poker matches.

Waessil stated that he had been working on the concept for a number of years at that point and that Lipscomb stole part of his intellectual property.

However if you had to place a bet, then you would have to say that Mr Waessil’s legal case doesn’t look to promising when you think of the huge funds behind the WPT.
