WPE introduces No Rake Poker
A new pricing initiative to revolutionize the online poker industry is to be introduced by the World Poker Exchange (WPE).
The idea of No Rake Poker is that a flat charge from winning pots will be eliminated for cash game tournaments and that each player will then have their rake calculated and given back to them on a weekly basis.
Haden Ware, managing director of the World Poker Exchange, was upbeat about the new offering.
He said: “While no-rake isn’t an option for most companies, we’re confident that free poker will deliver major new traffic to our other businesses, including sports wagering, live betting, horse racing and casino wagering.
“While many online players are skilled enough to break even or win against fellow players, it is difficult to reach a net win while continuously playing a rake.”
One of the aims of the scheme is to make it cheaper for online players to play poker.
