Clooney’s Vegas casino on hold

Oscar winner George Clooney’s planned Las Vegas casino development has been put on hold.

The Hollywood actor was planning to build Las Ramblas, a huge casino-hotel in Las Vegas based on the famous Las Ramblas promenade in Barcelona, Spain.

Only recently announced, the development of the 11 towered, five star hotel-casino will now have to be put back from the original completion date of 2008.

Clooney has previously said that he intends to donate almost a quarter of his upcoming casino projects to the African Debt Relief Program.

The project ran into problems after Clooney’s backers chose to sell the 11-hectare plot on which the £3 billion casino was to be built. The Ocean’s Eleven star reportedly says he remains committed to the project.
