WPT available on PSP late April
The computer game of World Poker Tour has reportedly gone gold and will be available for the PlayStation Portable (PSP) this month.
Published and developed by 2K Sports, the game is scheduled for release on April 18th in the United States and is also available for the GBA, PS2 and the Xbox.
The new title features virtual versions of a string of poker professionals, including Antonio “the Magician” Esfandiari, Evelyn Ng, Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi and Phil “Unabomber” Laak.
Gamers can create and edit their own characters as well as choosing from a range of existing players and real-life WPT venues. Boosting career earnings unlocks special features and players can even go online to play against PSP and PlayStation 2 competitors.
The new artificial intelligence system for the PSP version offers 1,200 different characters, unlockable custom clothes and invitational events and 4,000 variations of poker.
Based on the World Poker Tour television poker series, players can set rules and limits for poker games and commentary is provided by actual WPT commentators.
