Dome seeks super-casino licence
London’s infamous Millennium Dome could have a brand new 24-hour casino built in it, under new plans to construct a super-casino somewhere in the UK.
Greenwich is one of several places in the UK vying for the right to build Britain’s only Las Vegas-style super-casino, with the Dome entry possibly having up to 1,250 slot machines and unlimited prizes.
Proposals for the site were submitted to the Department of Culture Media and Sport’s Casino Advisory Panel last week, by the Greenwich site remains under strong competition from Blackpool in Lancashire, which also wishes to build a super-casino and cash in on the gambling trend sweeping the nation.
The panel is due to make its decision later this year, after looking at the impact any casino building will have on each individual area, including any benefits and damage caused by the regeneration.
