WSOP circuit begins

Las Vegas hosted the start of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) this week.

Around 204 players signed up to play in the $10,000 buy-in championship event with 30 minutes of the registration period left, reports LasVegasVegas.com.

One of the peculiarities of this year’s tournament is the midday start time, which many of the players are sure to find unusual given the standard late hours at which poker is played.

This week’s event – taking place at Caesar’s Palace – attracted a number of big name poker stars such as Christy Gazes, Chris Ferguson and Gavin Smith.
