Getting Lucky poker book launched
Writer Richard Sparks has unveiled his latest take on the world of poker: Getting Lucky: The Education of a Mad Poker Player.
Rather than a sequel to a Diary Of A Mad Poker Player, which recounted the author’s failed attempt to gain entry to the World Series of Poker main event in 2004, Mr Sparks takes a more educational view in this offering, according to Poker News.
The book deals mainly with his instruction from the 1983 World Champion Tom McEvoy and includes detailed analysis on poker strategy although it also touches on a variety of entertaining areas, including an interview with a renowned poker cheat.
The author also has a word of warning for those who believe a good poker education or this book will allow you to win every time.
“If a ‘perfect game’ is one in which greater skill will always win over lesser skill then poker is far from being a perfect game,” he writes.
“It is poker’s very ‘imperfectness’ that makes it a perfect analogy for our imperfect lives in this imperfect, uncertain world.”
