AC set for new gambling venue

Atlantic City Boardwalk is set to get a new casino with the news that investors are planning to purchase an 11-acre site at this famous location.

One group is reportedly close to agreeing an $85 million sale with the Atlantic City Hilton Casino Resort, which would be due to go ahead in November, reports the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Among the new casino facilities would be a hotel, shopping amenities and a multi-storey car park.

Wallace R Barr, the former Caesar’s chief executive officer, said he was heading the group of investors alongside Curtis Bashaw, the former executive of the New Jersey Casino Reinvestment Development Authority.

Pinnacle Entertainment also reportedly plans to close the Sands Casino and replace it with a billion-dollar casino hotel.
